An intensive 2 year training program for teachers of the hula tradition worldwide desiring to graduate through the traditional ceremony of ‘uniki. The goal of the first year of intensive training is to ‘uniki as ‘ölapa. The goal of the second year of intensive training is to ‘uniki as ho‘opa‘a. There will be four sessions of intensive training held during the year with a fifth session for the actual ‘uniki ceremony. All sessions are held at “Kahalelehua,” in Ola‘a (Mt. View) Hawai‘i.
The Papa Maile class was started a month after the Papa Lehua class in February of 2006. Both classes are running concurrently. Make up sessions may be scheduled for participants that miss a session. To ‘uniki students must attend all the sessions and fulfill all the requirements as determined by Kumu Hula Kawaikapuokalani Hewett.

This is a two and a half day intensive study on the Hawai‘ian Tradition of Ho‘oponopono or “realignment of spirit, mind and body.” We revisit the past to study past experiences and how they have affected the present and the future. Ho‘oponopono is founded on “kala” or forgiveness to promote harmony and wellbeing within one’s self and one’s surrounding. We will study the relationship of the ‘aumakua to ho‘oponopono and learn the basic concepts of the ho‘oponopono tradition for self use. This course is not intended to make anyone a teacher of the ho‘oponopono tradition. It is one of a continual series of courses in ho‘oponopono that will eventually lead to your ‘uniki or graduation.
These courses are managed by Aloha International through their web site at www.huna.org. Go to the “activity hut” for a listing of workshops being offered. You can register there for the Ho‘oponopono Intensive Workshops.
