Healing with stones
My first experience with hoomanamana or imparting healing power into objects such as the stones that I use in my necklaces was in December of 1997. I was called to offer prayers of healing for a 4 year old boy who was a patient at Kapiolani Hospital who had a sinus infection that was getting progressively worse. I myself at that time was sick with a bad flu and was unable to make it there to see the boy.
All the while though, he was in my prayers.
By the time I actually went to see the young patient months had passed and it was now March of 1998. I was called by a friend of the family who told me that the boy had slipped into a coma. Still in recovery from my illness I went to see the child. I was met by his mother who told me that they had done all that they could for her son. That day the doctors had done a brain scan and the outcome was that the child was brain dead. There was more that could be done to help the boy.
The boys mother told me then that she was ready to let him go and that she was ready to unhook him from all life support systems connected to his body. I asked her then to be patient for a while because although the doctors had done all that they could for him, now was the time to allow God to do his work.
I then went to see the child for the first time. Tears streamed down my eyes as I prayed to God for his healing. Spontaneously I took off the necklace that I was wearing and I asked his mother to hang it above his head. I then told her to cal me when he woke up and left the hospital.
A few days later I received a call from the boys mother that he had come out of his coma. Everyone was amazed because this was not an expected outcome especially after what the brain scan had concluded and because of his deteriorating condition.
All I could utter from my mouth was, Praise God.
As I walked into the childs room to visit him soon after the call of his recovering, he ran and hid behind his mother and whispered something to her. He told her that he knew who I was and that I was the one who came to pray for him when he was sick. Like in a dream he had seen me while in a coma.
He is well and healthy today and the coma had no lasting effects. I thank God for the healing that day and the compassion he has instilled in my heart for truly, me and my necklaces, we are just happy to be here.
